I said that this would be the year of completion for me. This would be the year that I would get long-worked-on or long-planned projects completed.
It is an auspicious goal, it is ambitious and over-reaching. And I have completed the first project.
Why does something like this take so long? I have only been working on it since my oldest son was a baby. I would do a little here and there, bring it out when he was sleeping and then put it away for a year or five.
I found it last year and decided to get it finished. Fill in that pitcher, complete the outline stitching and revel in a project completed.
I have a needlepoint picture I started before I got married! I know I’ll never finish it. There are just more pressing and important things in life sometimes.
It IS a great feeling though when you get something like this done FINALLY!
I know you must feel so good to have a visible sign of completion! I try to use events like a trip or guests coming to be my incentives for getting projects done. Sometimes it works! Congratulations on one down, and more to come! ~ Sheila
Company coming is a great incentive. I hold a First Friday event every month to force me to keep my house clean. Otherwise the detritrious (?) of life takes over.
Congrats! This is impressive.
It’s beautiful! I am in awe of your patience. I know it’s not easy to complete something so detailed. Congrats to you!

Lovely! I know the feeling of pride and satisfaction when a project is finally done.
Antique quilt, eh? Sounds intriguing…
I was given an antique quilt top that needs quilting. I have done minor patching and have started on the sandwiching. Pinning it is giving me a headache.
Its beautiful ! I had a cross stitch project I drqgged out for years, and when I finallly finished, I gave it to my mom…… I got a headache looking at it !
I understand the headache part. I plan to clean the cloth and frame it. I am keeping this one.
Yes, you should, its amazing ! – hope you didnt take what I said the wrong way !
I knew exactly what you meant. Some projects need to be given the (loving) heave-ho.
Yea! Well done. It takes a long time because there are a heck of lot of tiny stitches there!
Oh wow, fantastic work, that must take such patience.. c
You have a talent for needlework! Great job!
I think this is similar to cross stitching. I made a simple cross stitching when i was pregnant
in my first baby and i finish it when i pregnant with my 2nd baby.
Great job! the design is very lovely!
Yay for finished projects! I can’t wait to see that antique quilt.
It is a Dresden Plate from the 30s or 40s. It was made by the person’s grandmother but lost in the attic. I plan to stitch in the ditch once I get it pinned.
