Last week I talked about making cookies with Hershey’s Cinnamon Chips.
Apparently, they have been around for a while. One of my friends reported eating muffins made with these chips that were very tasty.
I need to find that recipe. In the meantime, I looked on the back of the bag and found a recipe for oatmeal, raisins, cinnamon chip cookies.
Now I know I should not recommend eating dough because of the raw eggs but the dough was fabulous. Maybe it was the two sticks of butter.

- The Batter
Or the cup of brown sugar.
I baked them up and the kids who claim to not like raisins were eating the cookies until I told them which cookies were the one with raisins and which had the butterscotch chips.
Let me confess that the kids liked those better. It might be the dash of orange flavoring I put in the batter of the butterscotch cookies. When my husband thinks I am not looking, he puts the butterscotch chips in his hunting gorp mixture as well.

Still, I really liked the cinnamon chips. So while I was at the Hershey website looking for muffin recipes I found this one for
applesauce bars. It looks good and I might have to buy more of these cinnamon chips.
I would have a picture of the cookies but they have all been eaten. Maybe next time.

Thank you for sharing this recipe, Karyn. I will definitely make these cookies…. or my husband will. (smile)
Make sure to sample the dough. It is really rich.
Oh the dough will be sampled…. for certain!
You are quite the cookie maker, lucky kids! c
I love mucking around with recipes and they are my very willing tasters.
I’ve never heard of cinnamon chips either. Yum! Thanks for stopping by my blog.
It was fun and I love to pretend I have taste. My house has a middle disaster area design to it.
Sounds so delicious!
And they were.
Cinnamon chips, yummmmm. The recipe with the butterscotch and dash of orange sounds like a winner. Cold weather just screams “make cookies.” Thanks for the ideas
that touch of orange really makes the flavors pop.
Mmmm…that whole post made my tummy grumble 🙂 Looks yummy!
Nothing like a rumbly tummy.
I’ve never used cinnamon chips, although I love cinnamon rolls, bread, etc. I’ll have to check them out. Since I don’t have anyone coming to visit the next few weeks…we are going away for Christmas and will have a working Thanksgiving, I’m not doing my usual baking. It’s easier for sure, but I miss it too.
Enjoy your holiday! Sheila
Sometimes routines get changed but hopefully you can get into some baking. I know what you mean about missing those holiday traditions.
I’ve passed these cinnamon bags a hundred times and wondered “Who uses those things?” Now I know. Maybe I’ll give it a try. It’s hard for me to pass up good ol’ chocolate chips if I have any time at all to bake. At least I know what to do with them now….thanks.
Wait, can you imagine chocolate and cinnamon chips cookies?
Hmmm… cinnamon? No thanks.
These look good! Have you tasted Cadburys chocolate? I’d love to mix their Golden Crisp chocolate into a recipe or to create something similar to it.
It’s been years since I baked, but soon I plan to try out spelt flour in a recipe – I’m also thinking of trying to make a porridge oat biscuit that I read about a few days ago. Something healthy, but tasty.
On the other hand, I saw this extremely unhealthy peppermint ice-cream chocolate and sweets cake on the a baking show yesterday and it looked incredibly delicious. Maybe I deserve a large and unhealthy chocolate treat for Christmas…. ;D
You had me at extremely unhealthy peppermint ice-cream chocolate and sweets cake!
