Watching the tulips blossom
has made this rainy spring bearable.
From yellow to pinks to reds, the color display has been wonderful.
All of these are favorites as I walk the dog around town.
The tulips in the grotto were picked because I love the way they ‘just happen’ to appear around the bases of these bushes – scattered and occaisional.
How do the tulips look in your neighborhood?
Beautiful! I love tulips too. I think daffodils and tulips are my favorite spring flowers.
Thanks for sharing!
I am thinking about planting Alium for next year. Those big purple globes are just wonderful.
Hi notes from rumbley cottage. I have been so busy at our shop in Basel, I have finally gotten back to my blog.
Your blog is a quite comforting one. And your blog name sounds like the title of a book. I would surely read it.
I am so inspired by your photos of Spring, I might just steal some time and take some photos of our gorgeous lilac tress in full bloom, three purple and one white. Presently, the pollen count is quite high in Alsace, so I will wait until the sneezing and itchy eye danger has passed before I plant anything.
By the way, your Family Movie section is interesting. As our daughter is 21 and out of the house, my husband and I look at just about everything. Two movies that I would suggest for your children is Lion King and The Wizard of Oz(though you may have seen both already).
Must run now and get this dinner on. Speckled zucchini, carrots, and onions with brown rice.
Have a nice day.
Will checkback soon.
when quiet
I would like to see that. I love Lilac bushes. Trying to get my husband to plant more bushes is difficult as he does not to mow around them.
Please keep coming back.
I’m a big tulip fan too. Trouble is I don’t like crawling around on the ground in the cold fall to plant them!
That can be a problem. I have to do it this year because my tulips are getting quite jammed together. Plus I have been promised daffodil bulbs from a friend who needs more space in their yard and less daffodils.
My tulips just broke ground, poor things. Snow is in the forecast…
They will be fine, this happens to bulb plants all of the time.
Those are quite nice. One of these days I may plant flowers. My wife has told me rows of rosemary bushes aren’t an acceptable replacement for azaleas. I’ll keep working on her.
I think you might have to give in and add azaleas to the rosemary.
Tulips are lovely! Here in the Northwest we have the tulip festival every year…the soil is so fertile–acres upon acres of tulips stretch out from horizon to horizon–the colors are fantastic.

I am seriously jealous., Smell the lilacs for me when they come out!
I will, I will.
Beautiful tulips and you have a ton of them! Ours haven’t come in yet (the are getting there though).
Just be patient, they will be there soon. Next up in my flower garden are the flocks.
