The county fair opens today, which means last night we delivered our final projects. The fair is assembled and waiting for visitors.

Wow, it looks like a ton of work went into pulling this off! I’ve always loved going to local fairs, and still do. I’m definitely a fan of the food – funnel cake, elephant ears, lemonade! I do love the smaller rides, though…the ferris wheel can be a bit too scary for me, though!

Lemon shakeups are incredible but are nothing but raw sugar. It tastes great on a hot day.
It’s funny, but though I know our county fair is close at hand, I hadn’t thought about it as something I should actually attend. I need to start considering these things now that I’ve got a little one who might be interested! Having grown up two blocks from our county fairground, those fairs were the highlight of my summers. It would be neat if my son felt even a little of that anticipation . . . although Disneyland’s proximity might make that a little more difficult than if I were still in Oregon!
It is a different kind of excitement when you don’t have Disneyland around the corner. However, maybe he needs to try a funnel cake!
You’ve been busy! You may want to get one of those spray bottles with or without a fan to fully enjoy the outdoor fun. I know you won’t be missing it no matter what.
Thankfully a front went through Tuesday night and has pushed the worst of the heat away. We bring 1/2 gallon juice bottles with frozen water to help keep Thumper cool.
Wow you guys really get involved. I haven’t been to the County Fair in years. We used to go to the State Fair. Cream puffs yum!
We are in 4H and there is a discount to be had if you show items at the fair. Suddenly, all of those tea cups I have really get a workout. I have not seen cream puffs at my fair but tonight we do the elephant ear/funnel cake eat-off.
Fairs are classic Americana, and a sure sign that summer is moving along. Hope Thumper does well!
Thumper is now a blue ribbon rabbit. The judge told Sara to save her and not eat her up.
